Ephesus Pamukkale and Antalya Tour Itinerary
Early in the morning, we will pick you up for your flight from Istanbul to Izmir. Upon arrival, we will meet and transfer you to Selcuk for the Ephesus Tour.
The tour begins with a visit to the Temple of Artemis, once a significant monument in the ancient world. Following this, we'll explore the ancient Greco-Roman City of Ephesus – a remarkably well-preserved historical site.
Lunch will be provided for a break. Afterward, we'll proceed to the House of Virgin Mary, a site of importance to both Christians and Muslims, believed to be her final residence.
Our next stop will be the Isabey Mosque, notable for its architectural style. Then, we'll move on to the Sirince Village – an old Greek village renowned for its quaint atmosphere, wine offerings, and local shops. You'll have approximately an hour for independent exploration, sampling local cuisine, trying out wines, and browsing through traditional village shops.
At the end of the tour, we'll transport you to your hotel in Kusadasi.
After having breakfast around 8:00 am, you'll be picked up from your hotel in Kusadasi. You'll head to a meeting point in Selcuk where the whole group will gather. Then, the Pamukkale tour begins. You'll leave Selcuk at 8:30 am and drive to Pamukkale, which takes about 3 hours. After about 1.5 hours on the road, there will be a quick 10-minute break for the restroom.
When you arrive around 11:45 am, the group will have lunch first. After lunch, at around 1:00 pm, you'll start a guided tour of Pamukkale and Hierapolis. A professional guide will show you the Cotton Cliffs, which are amazing natural formations made by certain materials. You'll also get to explore the old ruins of the City of Hierapolis, including its ancient buildings and baths.
Once the guided tour ends, you'll get some free time to explore the area on your own. You can choose to swim in the Pamukkale pools, but that would be at an additional cost. The guide will tell you when and where to meet up again.
The tour will finish around 4:00 pm, and then you'll be taken to the bus station for your Antalya tour.
The bus drive to Antalya from Pamukkale takes about 3 or 4 hours.
Begin your day with a hotel breakfast.
At around 8:00 am, we'll pick you up from your hotel. Our first stop is Perge, a city with ancient roots dating back to around 1500 BC when the Hittites settled there. It used to be one of the biggest cities in the Pamphylia region. Moving on, we'll head to the Aspendos Ancient Theatre. This incredible theatre, amazingly well-preserved, was constructed in the 2nd century A.D. It can hold up to 15,000 people and is still used for music concerts and festivals.
Afterward, we'll have lunch at a restaurant by a nearby river, then continue our journey to Side (pronounced "Seeday"). Side is a prime example of a classical ancient city in Turkey. Back in the day, it was a bustling port city and home to a major slave market in this area. During the Roman era, Side saw extensive development, including the construction of a large theater, Roman Baths, and the Temple of Apollo.
You'll have about an hour of free time in Side, where you can enjoy the sea and explore the city. On our way back, we'll make a stop at the Manavgat Waterfall. Finally, we'll drive you back to Antalya, where you'll be transferred to your hotel.
Dinner in your hotel will also be included.
After breakfast, we will pick you up from the hotel entrance, on a comfy air-conditioned bus. Our first destination is the charming coastal village of Üçağız, a journey spanning around 3 hours. Along the way, you'll catch glimpses of the Taurus Mountains and pass through resort towns like Kemer, Kumluca, and Finike. We'll take a small break near Antalya before reaching the quaint Üçağız Village. This is where the captivating boat tour of the Kekova Sunken City begins.
At approximately 10:30 am, you'll hop aboard an adorable two-deck boat, embarking on an exhilarating cruise across the turquoise waters of Kekova. The boat provides a remarkable view of the sunken city ruins beneath the sea. Our guide will fill you in on the history of the Sunken City of Kekova and the ruins along the coastline. During the boat trip, we'll also take a break for swimming in a bay near the Island of Kekova.
Following the one-hour boat journey, we'll return to the pier and make our way to a restaurant near Demre. The lunch spread includes two main courses, rice, pasta, soup, and an impressive selection of 12 salads. (Menu might change depending on different seasons)
After that, we'll board the bus for a visit to St. Nicholas Church. Spending about 45 minutes at this revered pilgrimage site, a magnet for countless tourists annually, is an enlightening experience. After exploring St. Nicholas Church, we head to the captivating Myra Ancient City, arriving around 2:00 pm. This enchanting locale is famed for its amphitheater with exceptional acoustics and the breathtaking rock tombs intricately carved into the mountainsides. After spending an hour to soak in the historical atmosphere, we'll make our way back and drop you off at your hotel around 6:30 pm.
We will then transfer you to the Antalya Airport for your flight to Istanbul. Upon arrival, we will drive you to your hotel.
