Background

This tour program is a professional guided tour program that includes the main attractions of Konya such as the museum & Tomb of Mevlana Celaleddin-i Rumi, madrasahs from Seljuk time, Alaeddin Mosque & Ruins of the Seljuk Palace, old Roman village and churches.

This program also includes walking in the Old bazaar and visiting the felt art house. Itinerary

05:00 Our driver will come to your hotel for picking you up and take you to airport. (Time can be changed according to available flights departure time)

07:05 You will fly from Istanbul to Konya. (Please note that flight time can be changed according to avalibilty)

08:15 You will arrive in Konya Airport then our staff will be waiting at the Konya Airport with name sign. You will be picked up and drive to Konya.

The tour starts by visiting, Mevlana Museum, which is located in Konya City Center. You will visit all available sections in Mevlana Museum such as Matbah (Kitchen), tombs, Tilavet Chamber (Quran Reading And Chanting), Semâ-Hâne (Ritual Hall).

Afterwards, we will continue the tour by visiting Selimiye Mosque which is located right next to Mevlana Museum. The mosque was commissioned by, and named for, Sultan Selim II (1566-74) in the Ottoman style.

Following this, you will have lunch in an authentic restaurant.

After having lunch, you will do Panaromic Meram tour. Then continue the tour by visiting Tavusbaba Tomb which belongs to Seyh Tavus Mehmet El Hindi, a Seljuk Period holy man (Sufi saint) near the Meram area.

After visiting these, we will go to Karatay Madrasah which was actually founded  maintained by the sultan, princes and other nobles as well as the Wakf, who could afford to meet the expenses needed for free education to students.

Then visit the Ince Minaret Medrasah which dates from the 13th century. Originally a medrasa, an islamic school, it is now a museum of wood and stone carving. It is named for its elegant tiled minaret.

Alaaddin Mosque which was built up at the hill is still surviving intact with its impressive beauty. The construction of the oldest and the biggest mosque of the period of Anatolia Seljuk in Konya which began during the rulership of Seljuk Sultan Rukneddin Mesut I (1116-1156).

Finally, we will attend the Semah (Whirling Dervish Show) to see the amazing atmosphere in Mevlana Cultural Center in Konya. This tour and Whirling Dervishes Performing gives you a chance to understand the story of Sufism,Sufis and ritual of the Mevlevi.

At the end of the tour, drive back to Konya Airport

00:20 Arrive in Istanbul. When you arrive in Istanbul airport, you will meet with our staff at the airport then be transferred to your hotel.
